It is fairly common for a school to have casual teachers. Some of them may be available to teach a class, but their availability may change from week to week. Teachers can log into Bookeo and accept to teach a class.
Here are the steps you should follow to let teachers assign themselves to a class:
In this article:
- Step 1 - Set up your teachers as resources
- Step 2 - Set assigned teachers as "to be determined" in the class schedule
- Step 3 - Set up your teachers as account users
- How teachers can accept to teach a class
If you haven't already done so, set up your teachers as resources in Settings>Resources, under the same resource type, for example, "Teachers". Click here for more information
In the Classes and Events section of the resource type, tick the classes that will use these resources.
In the class schedule, leave the assigned teacher as "to be determined"
- Go to Settings>Classes>Courses, events
- Click on a class
- go to the Schedule tab
- make sure that in the class schedule, the assigned teacher is "to be determined"
If you haven't already done so, set up your teachers as account users in account>users. Click here for more information
In the Permissions - Special operations section, make sure that the Change classes checkbox is ticked.
In the Permissions - resources section of the user's settings page, make sure that account users have 'read and write' permission for themselves. For example, the account user Julia should have 'read and write' permissions on the resource Julia.
In the Permissions - classes section of the user's settings page, make sure that account users have 'read and write' permission for the classes they teach.
Now teachers can sign into their Bookeo account to see upcoming classes. Classes with a teacher set to be determined will show it with 3 question marks on the calendar.
The user can simply click on the class, and select themselves as the teacher , then Save to be assigned to that class.
