How to set up personal lessons priced by their duration

If you offer a personal lesson priced by its duration you should follow the instructions below to set it up.

In this article:

• Step 1 - Create a personal lesson with no duration and no price
• Step 2 - Create an additional option to let customers select the duration
  • Dropdown additional option
  • Number additional option

Step 1 - Create a personal lesson with no duration and no price

1. Go to Settings>Classes, Courses, event

2. Click on the NEW button on the right of the page and select Personal lesson/Appointment

3. Create a personal lesson with no duration and no price.  You will need to enter a duration during the initial set up, but you can change the duration back to zero later in the Time Settings tab.

Step 2 - Create an additional option to let customers select the duration

If you price the personal lesson by hourly increments, you can set up a number additional option or a dropdown additional option to let customers select the duration. If you price the personal lesson by increments of less than 1 hour, for example, 30 minutes, 75 minutes, etc, you will have to set up a dropdown additional option.

Dropdown additional option

1. Go to the Options tab and click on the New option button to create a dropdown option:

2. Input a name for the option, for example, "Duration"

3. Tick the With duration checkbox 

4. In the Choices section, click on the New choice button to add a duration with its price. Save and repeat for all the possible durations.

5. Enable option for the specific personal lesson  - in the Restrictions section, select the personal lesson (s) for which this option is enabled

Number additional option

1. Go to the Options tab and click on the New option button to create a number option:

2. Input a Name for the option, for example, "Duration"

3. Input the minimum and the maximum number of hours (duration of the personal lesson). The default value is the default value shown to your customers

4. Tick the Duration checkbox and select the duration as "1 hour"

5. Tick the Price checkbox and input the hourly price

6. Enable option for the specific personal lesson - in the Restrictions section, select the personal lesson(s) for which this option is enabled
