Configuring the kiosk on your devices
Bookeo's waiver kiosk can be used with any browser or kiosk app, allowing for quick and easy on-site signing.
Preparing your device
To set up an in-store waiver kiosk, you will need a PC, laptop, or mobile device. If possible, a tablet is the recommended device format for the kiosk.
To ensure that your kiosk device only allows visitors to sign waivers, you can use:
- a Kiosk lockdown application software designed to restrict the device to a single application. You can search for kiosk application software in the Apple Store or on the Google Play Store, OR
- your device browser in Kiosk mode. Please refer to the support articles for your device or browser to find out how to enable kiosk mode.
To protect your customers' data and privacy, it is strongly recommended to disable and clear the AutoFill/AutoComplete information feature in your browser. In addition, disabling the auto-lock feature or adjusting the screen timeout settings of your devices will ensure that the browser does not automatically lock after a period of inactivity.
Logging in to your kiosk
An account user must log in from the Kiosk URL https://kiosk.bookeo.com/ from each device guests can use to sign waivers in-store. The same login credentials can be used for multiple kiosks. The user must be either the account owner, a super-manager, or a user who has the "Launch kiosk" permission.
For security reasons, an account user can be logged into both the dashboard and the kiosk simultaneously, but not from the same device.
How customers can sign waivers using the kiosk
Customer can search for their booking by surname, booking number, or email address.
The kiosk will display bookings that start within a specific timeframe from the search time. Click here to learn more.
Customers can then select the booking and participant[1] for which they want to sign. If a waiver signature is required for more than one participant, a QR code[2] will show after customers select their booking. Participants can scan the QR code with their phones to sign their waiver on their device. This is useful to speed up the process for large parties.
Participants can click the Next[3] button to complete and sign the waiver. Once signed, they'll have the option to select another participant and fill out their waiver as well.
All submitted waivers will be automatically linked to bookings and will appear in your Bookeo dashboard.
Kiosk auto-reset and timeout
When a customer submits a waiver, the kiosk mode automatically resets after the person finishes the waiver in preparation for the next guest.
If customers abandon signing a waiver, the session will automatically timeout after 10 minutes and return to the kiosk home screen.
