Creating a Waiver Template
To create a waiver template:
1. Go to Settings>Waivers
2. Click on the New Template button
3. In the Name[1] field, input the name of the waiver template
4. For Audience[2], select if:
each participant must complete the waiver, or
only the main customer must complete the waiver.
5. For Validity[3], select if the waiver is valid for a single booking or if it has a validity period:
customers must sign this waiver every time they make a booking, or
a signed waiver is valid for... and set the validity of a waiver from the dropdown menu.
If you set waivers with a validity period, existing signed waivers will automatically be linked to subsequent bookings only if:
- customers sign in as returning customers during the booking process, or
- account users select an existing customer profile using the autocomplete function when creating a new booking.
- if the waiver was signed by a participant (not the main customer), existing waivers will be automatically linked if the service/activity booked was set to collect participants' details. If participant details are not collected, waivers signed by them for previous bookings cannot be linked to new bookings
6. In the Elements section, click on the New element[4] button to add an element, for example, a heading, text, or date, to the waiver. Click here to learn more about which elements you can add to your waiver.
A signature field will be automatically shown at the bottom of the waiver.
7. The elements will appear in the order in which they will be shown in the waiver.
Click on the icons[5] next to each element to:
-
to delete an element,
-
to add a new element before that element,
-
to add a new element after that element,
-
to drag and drop an element to change the order in which it will be shown in the waiver
8. Click on the Test button to open a preview of the waiver in a new browser tab. You can return to your dashboard tab and click Save to save the waiver template, or you can keep editing it.
9. Saved Waiver Templates are displayed in the Templates table.
You can translate your waivers by following these steps here.

You can click on the Print [9] button to print the QR Code.
If needed, you can delete the existing QR code by clicking Delete [10], and create a new one by selecting Generate New [11]. For example, if the QR code has been shared publicly or accessed by unauthorized users, deleting and regenerating it prevents misuse.
Search, signature, and printing options
In the Options section, you can configure your waiver search, signature, and printing settings.
1. From the Booking search [12] dropdown menu, select how far in advance bookings will be visible when using the Waiver kiosk or QR code.
2. In the Signature section, untick the Automatic [13] checkbox if you do not want to give customers the option to sign using an automatically generated signature in a selected font.
Participants can always sign their waivers with either a mouse (or cursor) from a computer OR with their finger/stylus if the waiver is presented on a touch screen-enabled device.
3. Tick the Print participant details [14] checkbox if you want to include participant information at the top of the printed waiver.
4. Save
Parental/Guardian waivers for minors
You can require the signature of a parent/guardian if the participant belongs to specific people categories.
1. Go to Settings>Waivers
2. In the Parents/guardians section, tick the checkbox next to the custom people categories [15] for which a parent/guardian signature is required. The default people categories Children and Infants are automatically selected.
3. Save
Minors
If a participant's date of birth is collected, and the input date of birth makes the participant less than 18 years old at the time of signing, Bookeo will automatically require a parent/guardian signature.
