If you expect to receive payments from customers in countries that use non-latin characters, it is important to make sure that PayPal uses an 'encoding' of characters that support all possible characters (including east-Asian, for example).
The worldwide standard for character encoding supporting every possible character is Unicode, and this is the encoding used by Bookeo. PayPal can use it as well, but sometimes it is not set to do so by default (sometimes it is by default - it just depends on the account...)
To ensure that PayPal uses Unicode too, follow these simple instructions:
-
Login to your PayPal account.
-
From the menu, click on Profile, then click on My selling tools
-
Click on the link PayPal button language encoding (you'll find it at the bottom of the page, in the section More selling tools)
-
Click on the More options button
-
In the section Do you want to use the same encoding..., select No and then select UTF-8 (this is the technical name for Unicode, at least its most common encoding)
-
click Save to save the changes
